EvilCast Recap, Episode #250

Friday, December 19th, 2014

evilcastLargeHere we are, the last full episode of 2014! It is amazing that Keri, Ross, Blake, and most importantly, Chris’ livers have survived the year, so it only seems fit to celebrate… with some of the biggest stories of the week. Topics to round out the year include the Devil May Cry re-release that nobody asked for, Gabe Newell actually admitting that Steam staff was wrong, and Telltale announcing their killer new partnership with … … Minecraft?!

And what better way to send off the new year, than a last “Top 5,” from Ross? This time around he looks into his crystal ball and predicts his, “Top 5 Games to be Censored NEXT.” What do you think of his picks? Any other predictions that you would like to add?

EvilCast Recap, Episode #249

Friday, December 12th, 2014

evilcastLargeBack at full strength once again, Keri, Chris, Ross and Blake are ready to kick ass through another week of gaming news. Among the items that topped the list are petitions being circulated, more issues with the Master Chief Collection and insanely overpriced Amibo misprints. Sounds like it is time to take a trip down your local toy aisle…

What would the end of the year be without everyone’s favorite game show, “Stump the Drunk?” Ross once again springs the spontaneous competition on the team and you may be surprised at the result! Hell, even Chris got a question or two right.

EvilCast Recap, Episode #248

Friday, December 5th, 2014

evilcastLargeWhat better way to ring in the holiday season than a learning the new setting for the next Assassin’s Creed title? Keri, Chris and Blake look into the supposed leaks, along with taking a trip down memory lane. But first there was other important news such as Star Citizen continuing to rake in the big bucks, Xbox One having the upper hand on Black Friday and Australian Target is once again taking the Grand Theft Auto franchise to task.

With Ross unfortunately absent this week, the trio thought that this week’s 20th Anniversary of the PlayStation was a perfect time to reflect back on what helped define the platform. Warning, infinite amounts of nostalgia ahead, so tread carefully!

EvilCast Recap, Episode #247

evilcastLargeHoly Day 1 Patches, Batman! In between download queues, Ross, Keri and Blake sat down for another deep and retrospective discussion of this year in broken releases. But don’t worry: that’s not all! With Blizzcon now firmly in the books, it only seem appropriate to look back at some of the biggest news and non-news tidbits of the last seven days, including the likes of Blizzard’s first new IP announcement in 17 years. Oh, and did we forget to mention that Just Cause 3 is on the way too? Yeah, Blake wants that as soon as possible.

In our featured segment, Ross decided to venture back to the mailbag for another,“Ask The EvilCast.” As always, thanks for your thoughts and feedback. It is greatly appreciated. Let us know what else you would like to hear the panel discuss in comments or send your suggestions to ross[at]gamesareevil.com or @EvilCast on twitter.

EvilCast Recap, Episode #246

Friday, November 7th, 2014

evilcastLargeThis must be what normal feels like? Now that the EvilCast crew is deep into the glut of the holiday game release flood, it was only a matter of time before they came up for air. Blake, Ross, Chris and Keri decided to once again reconvene and talk about the press news of EA shutting down their great MMO hope, Downgate, the projections of Oculus Rift being closer to release than one might think, and tons of free Witcher 3 DLC. Well this mess is free every week, so why wouldn’t DLC be too?

Ross awoke from his Shadow of Mordor induced haze to cobble together his, “Top 5 Character titles in Shadow of Mordor.” Just when you thought it was safe to venture back out into Middle Earth, these jerks will make your life miserable. Which one is your personal favorite?

EvilCast Recap, Episode #245

evilcastLargeNow that Extra Life is effectively in the rear-view window of 2014, it is time for Keri, Ross, Chris and Blake to get back to what they do best: Gaming News. Yeah, we chuckled when typing it too, but with the morsels that this week offered up, anyone could have been a news expert. Some of the lineup this time around included the dismissal of the case between Noriega and Activision, Star Citizen continuing to hit it rich, and Sony delaying the free version of Driveclub, ‘until further notice.’ Well at least the paying customers will get to play the game… someday!

It only seemed right to spend this week’s featured segment reflecting back on some of the highlights of this year’s EvilCast Extra Life livestream. Be sure not to miss any of the amazing shenanigans including countless arrows to the knee and obscenities from Blake to boot! Thanks for your support this year and here is to an even better effort next time around!

EvilCast Recap, Episode #244

Friday, October 24th, 2014

evilcastLargeTwas the night before Extra-Life and all through Blake’s house, not a creature was stirring, except for Chris and Ross. Despite Keri’s absence, the fearless trio took the fantastic news that she still provided for them and spun it into podcasting gold. This week’s episode may be shorter than usual in prep for Saturday’s big event, but that didn’t stop the team from discussing brain training games, idiot game developers, and the return of 3D Realms. Duke Nukem would be proud of their resilience! Who’s NEXT?

Going back to what he knows best, Ross decided to return to the well of infinite lists, AKA, his imagination. This time around he fished out his, “Top 5 Video Game/Reality Show Crossovers That Need to Happen.” It was nice to see him return to form, just in time to have his soul broken by 24 consecutive hours of gaming. Be sure to tune in next Friday to hear things somewhat return to normal… or at least as close to normal as these four will ever get!

evilcastLargeDriveclub and Tetris and Kickstarter, Oh My! The full squad is back from our break to tackle a bevy of newsflashes. Thankfully Chris didn’t lose his mind during the Kickstarter conversation because that paved the way for talk of Nintendo’s budding attempts at internet shopping, and Tetris becoming a feature film. Yep, we don’t get it either, but good luck to the poor director that has to make that disaster a reality.

Instead of our usual featured segment, we instead discussed our plans for October 25th’s Extra Life gaming marathon. For the first time ever, the entire EvilCast crew will be participating in the event, from the same room. It will be epic and amazing. Be sure not to miss out on the livestream!

EvilCast Recap, Episode #242

Friday, September 26th, 2014

evilcastLargeJust when you thought you’d heard it all, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani comes to the defense of gaming. Who could have ever seen that coming? Well Keri, Ross and Blake certainly weren’t prepared for that bombshell, but they were more than ready for talk of new Steam features, Blizzard canceling their World of Warcraft successor, and Gamestop exploring the resale of DLC. Yes, you read that right: RESELLING DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT. It sounds just as insane the second time around.

In our featured segment, Ross decided to venture back to the mailbag for another,“Ask The EvilCast.” As always, thanks for your thoughts and feedback. EvilCast Recap, Episode #241

Friday, September 19th, 2014

evilcastLargeThe results are in and it appears that Destiny is a hit… kinda. Despite the fact that only Blake has actually played it, Ross, Chris, and Keri all chimed in on what they have heard about the game. On top of all of those shenanigans, there was also discussion of PlayStation Now finally coming to the PS3, Sony having to lower their fiscal expectations again, and the finalizing of Mojang becoming a full-fledged Microsoft property. That’s right people. The end is here!
