City of Villains: An Inside Look At Evil – When Bouncers Go Bad

No Comments 02 January 2010 | Tags: , , , , , ,

Thanks for reading the latest in our ongoing series of “insider information” from the world of City of Heroes/City of Villains. Each weekend, Paul Brooks, superhero with a checkered past, updates us with his latest investigative reports from the front lines in the classic battle between good and evil. Missed the first few? Here they are:

In this week’s installment, Tickle Machine:

Subject: Tickle Machine
Real Name: Jurgen Teasdale IV
Other Aliases: Hoppy
Place of Birth: Unknown
Marital status: Single
Height: 6′6″
Weight: 275 lbs.

Known Powers: Tickle Machine has trained himself in the art of fighting. He is a master at both offensive and defensive styles of brawling and street fighting. After his formal induction onto the 7th Egg dynasty, Machine has specialized in shield based combat. Mystic supernatural strength has also been bestowed upon him by The Great Egg. He can press somewhere around 2 tons by my estimation. I have seen his shield withstand a depleted uranium shell from an Abrams equivalent tank. Tickle Machine also uses a serum of unknown origin to transform his gender. He claims this is to ,”keep them on their toes.”

Case Log:Tickle Machine is a work horse for the dealings of the 7th Egg Dynasty. He is commonly deployed with Doctor Heavy Hand for jobs involving collections and general intimidation. When working he is quiet. I do not believe that this is out of choice, but because he wears a gag into combat. The reason for this gag may stem from the source of his powers. It would seem that the Great Egg made a deal with some sort of mischievous demon to get supernatural strength granted to Tickle Machine. This demon wants its subject to be in a state of annoyance or embarrassment or the powers may fade. It is my belief that is why he is willing to inject himself into his alternate identity of “Hoppy”.

As Hoppy he is a lot more friendly, but this tends to make other members of the 7th Egg Dynasty uncomfortable. Tickle Machine seems quite at home as a man or a woman. In this form I learned over some drinks about his past. As near as I could calculate, Tickle was a bouncer for close to twenty years before becoming a super-villain. He was most proud of his time as head bouncer for Club Deutschland. While bouncing there, he became a member of the S&M underground of Independence Port. It was this membership that I think gave him his ideas for the various costumes that I have observed.

Pocket D opened its doors shortly after the closing of Club Deutschland and Tickle Machine was sure with his connections that he would become the head bouncer. Management frowned upon his sadistic personal life and would not have anything beyond a brief interview that ended up with Tickle Machine being escorted out of his meeting. While walking home he met the Bad Egg and was recruited immediately into the 7th Egg Dynasty as a disciplinarian. I do not believe this man to be evil in nature. I think he could be a source in bringing this whole Dynasty to a close.

City of Villains: An Inside Look At Evil

Thanks for reading the latest in our ongoing series of “insider information” from the world of City of Heroes/City of Villains. Each weekend, Paul Brooks, superhero with a checkered past, updates us with his latest investigative reports from the front lines in the classic battle between good and evil. Missed the first few? Here they are:

In this week’s installment, The Bad Egg:

Subject: The Bad Egg2
Real Name: Corky Trocious
Other Aliases: None
Place of Birth: Port Oakes
Marital Status: Single
Height: 6′
Weight: 300 lbs

Known Powers: The Bad Egg possesses reflexes akin to a world class gymnast. Through mystic training as well as a martial arts and wrestling background his hide is tough enough to deflect small arms fire. He has used his mystic strength to be able to leap through the air at incredible distances. I have seen him use some sort of dark energy from another dimension to heal allies and harm his enemies in a variety of horrific ways, which he seemed to take no pleasure in either way. I have not seen him out of costume but it has been suggested that he has not aged since 1970.

Case Log: The Bad Egg is the chief enforcer of the 7thEgg Dynasty. He is the other trusted leader in the organization with The Good Egg. Much like the The Good Egg, The Bad Egg also gets to have direct audience with The Great Egg. Secret assignments from The Great Egg are a specialty of The Bad Egg. It is my opinion that The Bad Egg knows the ultimate goals of The 7th Egg Dynasty. My investigations have shown that he has been a member of the group as far back as the 1970s as a member of the 6th Egg dynasty. Capture of this individual would be nigh impossible, and fruitless in my opinion as he would never divulge the secret knowledge to us.

As previously noted about The Good Egg, The Bad Egg was also a Japanese professional wrestler in the late 1980s. This is where the world at large learned of The Bad Egg. Even though Interpol was aware of Corky Trocius as early as 1968. He was associated with the theft of several mystic artifacts across Croatoa, but no prosecutable evidence ever came to light. Several witnesses simply disappeared.

In 1977 The Bad Egg was present at the defeat of the 6th Great Egg (Count Vesuvious) and swore vengeance upon the young mage Doctor Tectonic for his role in the end of the 6th Egg Dynasty. The Eggs began wrestling in Japan, as reported. The duo were quite popular and entertaining, with the serious Bad Egg and jovial Good Egg. Through my investigation of records and in ring footage, I have concluded that the Eggs did indeed have powers when they were acting as professional wrestlers. I detailed their egress from wrestling due to the fan outrage at their horrific behavior once the Great Egg joined them in the ring. It is still my belief that this was all planned by The Great Egg.

In the mid 1990s to the mid 2000s, all three resurfaced as members of a the highly successful touring band, Yolk. Their final tour was as a co-head lining act with the eclectic group, Mung Mind. My sources have now confirmed that Mr. Milk of the Mung Mind wanted to stop the tour due to certain ritualistic magics that the Great Egg had begun invoking before each concert date.

My interactions with the subject have been almost non-existent, as he spends a great deal of his time in counsel with Gran Tomago or The Good Egg. When not with them he is out on his own performing tasks assigned to him by Gran Tomago.

The other members of the 7th Egg Dynasty do not question orders from The Bad Egg. His word is scripture to them. The only exception to this I have seen was a recent exchange between Van Roy and Muerto Diablo. Van was doubting the logic in stealing a palate of hot dogs. Muerto looked at Van Roy and I suspect their was some form of telepathic communication between the two as, Van Roy’s mind must have changed. I report this because he screamed, “We must secure the supplies!” Then he promptly bled speed from me and ran to the teleporter. I must remain very cautious around this seasoned villain.

An Inside Look At Evil: City of Heroes, City of Villains

Subject: Muerto DiabloMD1
Real Name: Santiago Semental
Other Aliases: El Diablo Muerto, NAMOTH
Place of Birth: Talos Island
Marital Status: Single, deceased
Height: 6′ 1?
Weight: 156 lbs

Known Powers:The creature known as Muerto Diablo has mastered aspects of both the telekinetic and telepathic realm of paranormal abilities. Its use of telepathy tends to be in more overt forms of mental control and I have not determined if it can communicate telepathically (read or send thoughts). Muerto uses its abilities most commonly to put others in a state of sleep, instill terror in them, and the most common specialty it performs is the ability to mentally control others. It has been rumored that it has perfected this most dreadful talent into the ability to re-write another’s personality. Its telekinetic skills are also of grave concern. Muerto directs physical force at others in a punishing fashion. I have seen it demolish an armored car simply by looking at the vehicle. Through its use of telekinesis, Muerto has gained the power of flight.

Case Log:Muerto Diablo is one of the most dangerous members of the 7th Egg Dynasty. My exposure to Muerto Diablo has been limited until recently. Diablo and it’s associates are infrequently in the base of operations. I was rather shocked to find out that Muerto Diablo’s partner in crime is none other than the entrepreneur, Van Roy! It was after their most recent mission that I finally got to meet the two face to face. Van Roy seemed in a trance-like state. (the other members commented that he is always like that when in Muerto’s presence). Muerto engaged me in conversation. Its otherworldly voice did nothing to help me to determine its origins or motivations.

We discussed food. This troubled me to no end. Muerto no longer must eat to live. It claims that something else maintains its life force, however Muerto does enjoy eating puppies just to see the look on the children’s faces it takes them from. The glow of its eyes brought slight illumination to the dark meeting room. I hope that all of our intel was correct and that Muerto is incapable of reading minds. Its presence is so disturbing I was afraid I might drop my cover, so I cried (which nicely fits my cover identity) and said puppies are good and it left me alone.

The next day the Great Egg was on site, though I did not see him. He summoned forth the most trusted members of the 7thEgg Dynasty. We were all free to linger about or take time to cause general mayhem. With so many other out of the base or in meeting, I gained access to a computer file on Muerto and found out the truth of its existence.

Muerto Diablo was born in Talos Island, its name was Santiago Semental. Santiago studied acting through high school, as well as being a member of the wrestling team. To pay his way through college, Semental worked as a masked luchadore named El Muerto. It was during this time that Semental had a match against the Bad Egg (which Sementallost). I wonder if the Great Egg saw something in Semental that day? After graduating college Semental used his theatre degree to quickly be cast on the telenovela, Esposa De La Casa De Los Ricos.

MD2

At this point you probably remember the name Santiago Semental for his fling with that pop music star. Semental had quite the fan following and was a shoe in for the lead role in that movie about glowing vampires, then his own arrogance kicked in. Semental was approached for an autograph by a fan outside of Pocket D. He made a mockery of her in front of the paparazzi.

His body was discovered 7 hours later in a hotel in Kings Row. The skin had been totally removed and his heart cut out. This case was major news if you recall. The public never knew what we were aware of, which was that Semental’s fan was a major witch was a member of the Circle of Thorns whom had a dangerous infatuation for the star.

7 Days after Semental was buried, The Great Egg had his seer and necromancer, Napula, raise the body of Semental and transform it into Muerto Diablo. Muerto Diablo shows no signs of caring or remember its human existence. Muerto Diablo may be some sort of mythical lich and should be treated with caution.

MD3

I have included a photo of another member of the 7thEgg Dynasty that I saw only once. His name is NAMOTH. Research into this being has confirmed my theory. NAMOTH is a pooling of powers from like minded gods of death from various pantheons. More disturbing is that NAMOTH is another form Diablo takes. In this imp form Muerto Diablo is even more vile.

You are no doubt wondering why I would refer to Muerto as an it rather than as a person. I do not believe there is any humanity left in this shell that was once a man. All that remains is a vile creature of darkness that takes delight in working with the 7thEgg Dynasty and sharing destruction with Van Roy. We must be sure to prepare our allies in case Muerto Diablo calls upon the joined powers of Nergal, Arawn, Mictantecuhtli, Osirus, Tuoni, and Hades.
