Tuesday’s intro theme of the day is brought to you by Valkyria Chronicles, the turn-based/real-time strategy RPG that hit the PS3 in 2008. Also composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto, the soundtrack for Valkyria Chronicles (at least based on my experience) evokes a lot of the “war game” feelings that the old Call of Duty and Medal of Honor: Allied Assault games carried with them. Sweeping strings and surging horns, etc., etc.
Valkyria Chronicles’ music sets itself apart by being some of the more tear-inducing stuff while playing the game. Heavy on the cutscenes and storybook-moments in between missions, this game’ll rip your heart out if you’re not careful – mostly due to the perfect match of music to scene.
