Jet Set Radio made a triumphant return recently, letting Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC players rediscover (or, in some cases, discover) this stylish, addictive little gem from the Dreamcast’s back catalog. Portable-wielding players have been twiddling their thumbs and waiting impatiently for their own version of the game, however — but Sega has finally confirmed when mobile and Vita owners will get their hands on the game.
It’ll be out on Vita on November 20, and iOS/Android players will get it on the 29th. No news on price for either platform — expect the mobile versions to be considerably cheaper than the Vita version, with the tradeoff being you have to deal with on-screen virtual buttons. Hey, at least they look a bit like a Dreamcast controller.
For North American PlayStation Plus subscribers, Jet Set Radio will be one of the launch titles for Sony’s new “PlayStation Plus Vita Instant Game Collection” promotion, which also includes Gravity Rush, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, WipeOut 2048, Final Fantasy Tactics and Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack — as well as LittleBigPlanet 2, InFamous 2, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and The King of Fighters XIII for PS3 owners. Sounds like a good time to 1) pick up a Vita and 2) sign up for PS+.
