News: Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light Now Raiding Android

Popular action-adventure title Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is now available for Android devices via the Google Play store. Well, actually, that’s not quite true just yet — due to a limited-period exclusivity deal with Sony, the game is currently only available for Xperia S, Xperia Ion and Xperia Play Android phones.

This new release means that Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is now available for a wide variety of current-generation devices — specifically, PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, iOS and Android. The game is currently on sale on PC as part of the Steam summer sale, and other mobile versions are discounted in celebration of the new Android incarnation.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was the first game featuring everyone’s favorite female graverobber that didn’t carry the Tomb Raider brand, and differs from the platform-heavy gameplay of its predecessors by unfolding from a fixed-perspective isometric camera. The gameplay is also far more “arcadey” and action-based than the cerebral puzzles of its predecessor, and incorporates cooperative gameplay that requires the use of both Lara and her companion Totec to solve various challenges.
