After what seems like an eternity of waiting, the release date of Ken Levine’s upcoming Bioshock psuedo-sequel, Bioshock Infinite, has been revealed by 2K Games. The game is set to launch on Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3 (with exclusive bonuses and motion control support) on October 16th in the US and October 19th in Europe.
Unlike its waterlogged predecessors, Bioshock Infinite takes place on the floating city of Columbia, where mercenary Booker DeWitt is charged with rescuing a captured psychic named Elizabeth from the clutches of the “not a Big Daddy at all” Songbird. The game is said to include a number of innovations not seen in the series before, and those following the game are aware that it’s shaping up quite well. GamesAreEvil will have more on this upcoming action horror hybrid as its launch date approaches.
