The results are in from the poll last week, and they are not too far off from what I would expect. Just about everyone enjoys video games for a variety of reasons, be it the story, pretty visuals, as an escape from life, or an abundance of many other factors. The end result is still the same; we all enjoy this industry!
It has been a few days since news of GameStop ripping out free OnLive coupons from the PC version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution rocked news headlines all over the intertubes. Since this scandal was brought to light, GameStop has put in a voluntary recall of the PC game, promising purchasers a refund so long as they still have the receipt. Even more surprising, the retailer is now offering a $50 gift card and buy-two-get-one-free used games program to those with their preorder receipts. Unfortunately, it is still to be seen if people who just walked in and purchased the PC game will get the same kind of love.
So what do you, the consumer, think about this? Has GameStop gone far enough to right the wrong they have committed? Will you buy anything from this store again? Go ahead and vote, leave us your angry comments, and tell us what you think about this latest retail debauchery.
