As a bit of a Gamerscore whore myself, I have to admit that last week’s poll about whether or not you would play a game, if it had no Trophies or Achievements, somewhat caught me off guard. Honestly, I thought there would be more people that would be on the heck no bandwagon, but perhaps nearly 68% of you are just more hardcore than me. I guess I should really reconsider my stance about Achievements being a crucial part of game design now…but more on that in another week’s poll.
Since 2008 there have been rumors circulating that the Xbox 360 would be gaining an external Blu-Ray drive, similar to the methods used with Microsoft’s failed HD-DVD experiment. Every once in a while, the rumor comes back around to rear its ugly head, but given the Xbox 360 Slim’s neglect of the popularly requested peripheral, it would seem that Microsoft will not embrace Sony’s baby anytime soon.
So this raises the question: Would you buy an Xbox 360 if it had a Blu-Ray drive? If you have any other thoughts other than a simple yes or no, be sure to give us an earful in the comments section.
