The past few questions I have posed here have been on a more serious note. This week, I would like to take a trip down memory lane. While the gaming world is wrapped up in fights over jailbreaking legality, studio closings, and the 3DS frying your brain, I figured it would be fun to embrace the good things games have provided us.
The question is simple this week: what sticks out in your mind as the best moment you had while gaming? This can be anything from a cut scene taking your breath away too spending hours on a rainy Saturday with your friends playing countless hours of Sonic. There are no right or wrong answers here. Hell, your best moment in gaming could be the first time you fired up an HD game and marveled at the visuals gracing your screen. The point is to take a moment from all the damn bickering we do to embrace the great things this industry provides us.
For me, nothing will out shine the Sunday that my step-sister and I spent hours playing Super Mario Brother 3. The parental units were yelling at us to go to bed, so we put the game on pause and promised one another that we would not touch the game until we got back from school the next day. Sadly, all our progress on Sunday was wasted as our streak of kicking ass dwindled in our sleep. Monday, we unpaused the game and quickly died. It was a disaster at a young age, but that single day of gaming with my sister has stuck with me ever since.
