North America loves to “catch ‘em all”.
Nintendo has just announced the early sales figures of Pokemon: Black and Pokemon: White. These new versions in the long-running series launched on March 6, and managed to sell over 1.08 million units in North America during the first day of availability. The previous record for the Pokemon series was held by Pokemon: Diamond and Pokemon: Pearl, which sold 780,000 copies over the same time period.
Pokemon: Black and Pokemon: White add over 150 new Pokemon to the roster, a new region to explore (Unova, which is based on North American geography this time around), and a new souped-up battle system containing 3-on-3 battles, rotational battles, and fully animated Pokemon sprites. Online battling and trading modes are also included, as well as a new Internet-based mode known as the “Pokemon Dream World” that is set to launch soon. Stay tuned to GamesAreEvil for a full review of the game.
Pokemon: Black and Pokemon: White are now available across North America at a MSRP of $34.99.
