It has been teased, previewed by Engadget, and all but confirmed at the PlayStation Meeting along with the announcement of Playstation Suite, but we now know that the forthcoming Sony Ericsson Playstation android phone is coming soon, with full details to be announced on February 13th at the Mobile World Conference being held in Barcelona Spain.
For anyone not exactly sure what this new device is, the Xperia Play is an android phone that uses a form factor similar to the PSPGo, with a slide out control panel with the ubiquitous Sony control interface (![]()

). Engadget has the full breakdown of the hardware specifications, but without delving too deep into chipsets and screen resolution, the Xperia Play is ready for Playstation Suite and has the power to play original PSP titles.
Look for more details on where and when, and more importantly how much it’ll cost to get your hands on an Xperia Play when it makes its official debut in Barcelona next weekend.
