Miyamoto announced on Nintendo’s site (in a new “Iwata Asks” section): “In the interests of adopting new technology for the Super Mario Bros. tradition, I am now making a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Nintendo 3DS system.”
This was reported on Eurogamer, as well, to which I just have to ask, “Really? This is news?”
The whole Iwata Asks section is about the 25th anniversary of everyone’s favorite plumber. But of course the headline is, “Super Mario on 3DS: Confirmed!” or some such. Let’s be honest, a bigger headline would be if he said, “Nah, I’m gonna develop something NEW.”
So, color me jaded, but I honestly assumed the 3DS would have Mario on it.
