So apparently Little Big Planet 2 is quite the huge planet, especially when it comes to online users. Comparing LBP1 to the current iteration in this fan favorite PS3 exclusive is like comparing apples to GINORMOUS apples.
Media Molecule co-founder and technical director David Smith told Eurogamer, “The user count is actually quite crazy – we’ve already massively outstripped our LBP1 record for total users online at once. And that’s just with North America and a few other territories.
“I think some people [at Sony] would be waving certain things at me if I gave the actual numbers, but it’s significantly higher.”
What I find fascinating is how the early beta has helped LBP2 become such a hit. With the millions of Plus members on the PlayStation network, some talented folks have gotten their sack-hands on the level creation tools and made some amazing new levels. As I played through the beta levels, I was struck by just how professional many of the user created ones were.
