Walmart’s Sweet Deal for Xbox Owners

Need to renew that Xbox LIVE subscription? You could do far worse than getting it through Walmart. The chain is offering one year of Xbox LIVE membership and a “select” game for $79, with shipping costing just $1.97.

With this sort of deal, “select game” typically means “lump of festering cack”. The kind of game that is barely useful as a coaster and certainly not something you’d ever want to insert into your console for fear of your console contracting the technological equivalent of an STD. Or just something that people will laugh at you for having any Achievements in. As someone who has one of the Achievements from Dead Or Alive Xtreme 2, I know this pain all too well.

Fortunately, there are no such problems here. The “select games” on offer include the bro-tastic Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, the cop-tacular Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, the shoot-a-riffic Call of Duty: Black Ops, the Patrick Stewart-o-rama that is Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and numerous others which probably also have a colon and a subtitle.

A year of Xbox LIVE membership can cost up to $60. Toss in a $60 game for about $20 and you’ve got yourself a pretty sweet deal.

Interested? Sure you are. Check out the product page here. At the time of writing, the deal is out of stock, but check back regularly to score yourself some sweet loot for knock-down holiday prices.
