Grand Theft Auto IV and its subsequent expansions are often hailed as one of the brightest spots of gaming’s current generation. While millions have already enjoyed the main game as well as add-ons “The Lost and the Damned” and “The Ballad of Gay Tony” there are still some folks who missed out. Fear not though, as both Amazon and Gamestop have confirmed GTA IV: The Complete Edition, to be available on October 26.
This special edition is set to offer all three games in one package and, even better, the whole bundle only costs $40. That’s a great deal, especially considering the standalone “Episodes from Liberty City ” (featuring “The Lost and the Damned” and “The Ballad of Gay Tony”) currently retails for $30 alone, not to mention GTA IV itself is still commanding $20-$25 for a new copy.
This news is very similar to last week’s announcement of the Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition, and it raises some of the same questions. Will gamers who purchased all this content separately way back when feel ripped off, or is this just another opportunity for those who haven’t played all the GTA IV content? This time around things are a little different considering the fact GTA and its expansions have been on the market for quite a while, so those who really wanted to play the games have already had a fair chance. Consider this more of a last gasp by Niko and friends to rope in a few more gamers or convince those stragglers who put off buying the DLC that now’s as good a time as any. Who’s excited for this bundle?
