THQ splashes some color into your drab lives

Comrade Black is up to his old antics again by waging an all out war on colors. Following the release of the 2008 title, de Blob, de Blob 2: The Underground has been announced today by THQ in efforts to allow gamers the opportunity to paint their way into the history surrounding the world of Prisma City. As additions to the first game, de Blob 2: The Underground will feature new moves, more free form painting and more friends than the predecessor. Fans of the series can enjoy the game on any console of their choice as the title will be released on the PS3, Xbox 360 as well as the Wii. An entirely different campaign bearing the same name will also be released for the Nintendo DS.

The story as we know it has Comrade Black disguising as a character named Papa Blanc who rigs an election to take control of Prisma City. With his new found power, he quickly takes over the city and spreads his filth in creating a monochromatic world for Prisma City’s inhabitants. That is until de Blob catches wind of Comrade Black’s antics. In de Blob 2: The Underground, players will control de Blob as he paints his way through the pollution filled streets of Prisma City while battling baddies with his new robot sidekick, Pinky. de Blob 2: The Underground will feature a rich single-player experience, new power-ups, challenges and multiplayer capabilities that favor both cooperative gameplay as well as competitive.

In the Nintendo DS version of de Blob 2: The Underground, the protagonist takes on a completely different foe in an underground facility against evil Dr. Von Blot. This 2D side scrolling will take the hero through several different levels featuring wall jumps, sticky mode and other new gravity defying moves to help thwart enemies that are hellbent to stop him.
