Eric – Sony showed that this year that it was about the games, and if Kevin Butler’s speech during the middle of the press conference proved anything it cemented this fact. Although there were no huge reveals besides Twisted Metal, I am intrigued by almost every game shown and it makes me yearn for a PS3 of my own.

The star of the show for me was Little Big Planet 2; I can’t wait to see the new and crazy games that come out of the community after everyone has time to figure out all of the tools out. Sorcery also looked neat, and frankly blew the Zelda demo out of the water (although reports from hands on with the game have said that the controls of Zelda are much better then they appeared on stage).

Of all the motion control systems (Move, Kinect, Motion Plus) I feel like Sony did the best job in showing and talking about games for the hardcore audience. Nintendo kind of skipped over a lot of Wii specific motion control games, and Microsoft put the focus squarely on family and casual titles for Kinect, while Sony showed Sorcery in depth and teased many other titles. Overall I think better then Microsoft and just about equal to Nintendo.

Scott – Since you can read the list of games and announcements above I won’t go into that. What I will say were the few funny and surprising moments of the show. First of, as I said on Twitter, Kevin Butler is the best bit of marketing that Sony (or any gaming company) has ever purchased. Hands down. Second when they announced the price for Move and everyone cheered… until they heard that you had to pay an extra $30 for the nunchuck part of the controller. Keeping them as separate packages is ludicrous. I didn’t see anyway of playing a game with out having both. I could be wrong (and hope I am) but you NEED them both to experience the true feel of Move. Finally and most importantly for me was the announcement of Twisted Metal. My surprise and adoration that I had for the Donkey Kong Country announcement was ten times more powerful upon hearing of a new Twisted Metal. This is the game that got me hooked on Playstation in the first place. Absolutely cannot wait to play that game.

After seeing all of the big three present their best, I have to say that my hat is off to Nintendo. However Sony did a very nice job keeping the Move demo short and sweet, as well as letting you know they still have some blockbuster exclusives coming out in the next couple years. Now, to start saving for it all.

Chris – Sony, I love your system, but your press conference didn’t push me over the edge.  Nintendo totally took you to the school yard on the press conference front.  You blew your wad on 3D and PlayStation Move.

The best part of this conference was when Kevin Butler came out and gave his gamer speech.  I enjoyed this tid bit a lot.  He got in his jabs to Microsoft and Nintendo while being enjoyable to listen too.

Killzone 3 looks awesome.  The biggest surprise was Portal and Steam coming to the PS3.  This was the hotness.  I’m stoked to play another Twisted Metal.  InFamous will be another day one pickup.

The biggest letdown would come in the paid subscription service your introducing.  I didn’t really hear a lot that would compel me to blow money on this service.  Maybe once it is out and we see all the freebies I might change my mind.

For those upset about the pricing of Konect, the move is not much cheaper.  Those people who don’t have a PlayStation Eye will need to buy the camera, dild…er wand, and navigation controller.  The one thing nobody has really brought up is that you see two wands in many advertisements.  Even the giant banner of Kevin Butler shows him holding two Move wands.  Two wands alone will set you back $100.  Think about that before you jump down Microsoft for their $150 Konect crap.

Overall, I can’t say I’m excited for 3D.  PlayStation Move is going to lead to a lot more broken TV’s.  3D and Move will just lead to expensive TV being busted.  Electronics companies are going to love Sony.  Brace yourselves gamers, 3D and motion controls are going to pollute your gaming experiences from here on out.
