For years I have thought that Guitar Hero would be a great series to create a quest game out of. The success of Puzzle Quest has already proven that this mashing of genres does work quite well. Today, Activision announced such a beast – Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. Although some details are still missing, Activision points out that the main mode would be a story-driven quest mode in which a group of eight rock warriors must band together to help the Demi-God of Rock (voiced by Gene Simmons) take down “The Beast” and save rock n’ roll.
Activison promises that the track list will be the largest on-disc music set to date. Additionally, players will have full access to Guitar Hero’s online library of songs. David Mustaine, of Megadeath fame, even wrote and recorded an original track for the game, “Sudden Death.” Here is just a sampling of the track list:
