The EA Press Briefing during E3 showed journalists and gamers alike that there are evil, wicked, bad things in space. On January 2011, it will be up to you to save humankind from the likes of necromorphs. Visceral Games unveiled today the launch date of the highly anticipated title, Dead Space 2. The sequel to the game that scared so many gamers worldwide, will hit the shelves on January 25th of 2011 in North America, with a European release on January 28th.
Dead Space 2 finds the hero, Isaac Clarke in some mysterious location where he soon finds himself in the middle of a necromorph funhouse. Set in an ambient location filled with cries of the undead, creepy imagery and echoing noises of things better left alone, Isaac must navigate through various strange and horrific locations; each crawling with the undead. Isaac finds himself aboard “The Sprawl” armed with inventive new tools of destruction to disarm, dismember and disembowel his foes. Visceral Games promises gamers will see larger scale battles and epic bosses to test your resolve.
“The story of Isaac, the necromorphs and the whole Dead Space fiction has much more to reveal. Dead Space 2 adds another dimension to the complex world and characters that inhabit this universe,” said Executive Producer, Steve Papoutsis. “We were honored and humbled by the response to Dead Space and Dead Space Extraction, and we could not be more excited to add another chapter to the annals of the horror genre.”
Dead Space 2 will be released by EA for the Playstation 3, PC and Xbox 360.
