Aliens vs Predators DLC on the Way

Alien vs Predator?

It looks like a new map pack for Aliens vs Predators is on the way. SEGA of America announced today the impending release of the Bughunt Map pack, which will be released on Xbox Live, the Playstation Store, and Steam on July 7 for $6.99/560 Microsoft Points. The Bughunt pack will have two new multiplayer maps for the six competitive online modes in AVP, and two new maps for the survival mode.

Please excuse my ignorance on the matter, but does AVP really warrant DLC? I’m not willingly ignorant on the issue. I have played the game, and I found the single-player experience to be one of the most boring things I have ever played. All of the mechanics worked fine, but it was just boring and unexciting. Now here comes the “not willingly ignorant” part. I tried for days to play online, and matchmaking literally did not work. Granted, I tried at launch and there may have been issues, but I have not been able to test out the online component because of this.

Nevertheless, for those of you who have played online and have had an enjoyable experience, keep an eye out for the map pack. As an added bonus, the DLC pack will also feature new weather effects. You know, because that’s what helps make a bad game good.
