I agree with you wholeheartedly. At one point in my gaming life I thought the console market would over take the PC, but to no avail. The digital download era has given a false indication of PC gaming decline as you state. I love the digital downloads and I caught some of those crazy Steam deals. Nothing can beat the convince and price of digital distribution.

I have, and still do purchase games over Steam, however there is nothing better than having a nice new game in its case with a disk, instead of a steam account with your games stored on.
