Jack Wall Returning as Composer for Mass Effect 2

Great news for video game nerds AND music nerds!!
As video games have developed and advanced over the past two decades, the relevance of video game music has followed suit. What used to be just coordinated beeps and boops has evolved into lush, complex orchestral scores, and as a budding musician myself, anything that continues this trend excites me. Which is why the news that Mass Effect composer Jack Wall is returning to compose the score for Mass Effect 2 is such great news. Bioware announced recently that the legendary composer has returned to work on the project, saying “Jack did an outstanding job with the original game and has a firm grasp for our vision of the trilogy,” implying he’d return to the third installment in the series. Jack couldn’t be more excited to return, saying the franchise “challenged me to create music beyond what I’ve written before.” Mass Effect 2 will be released stateside and in Japan on January 26th, and the game soundtrack will be released digitally a week before, on the 19th.
