The Stargate world is growing in the way of an online, third-person shooter named Stargate Resistance. Players will assume the role of either a System Lord or Stargate Command operative and battle it out in new, and familiar, worlds. No matter what role is assumed, teamwork will be of the essence, as the fate of the galaxy is at stake in each fight.
The game is looking to take the weapons fans have come to know and love, and put them in their hands. The arsenal will include such staples as the P90, Ash’rak Death Knives, and Staff weapons. Of course these weapons will come with six classes to choose from. Look to play as a scientist, soldier, and commando on the SGC side. System Lords can enjoy the Goauld, Ashrak, and Jaffa classes.
Stargate Resistance is looking to pack in several modes of play including Team Death Match, Capture the Tech, and Domination. Look for additional modes, maps, and classes to be announced as the game grows.
The official Stargate Resistance site can be found here. Look for it to hit the PC sometime in the first quarter of 2010. This pretty much came from left field. I sure hope this doesn’t go the way of Plantside and fall into the black hole of gamedom.
