Release of the Week: EverQuest Underfoot (PC)

EverQuestPixel Junk shooter hit the PSN store last week, so if you are looking for a good game, go look into that.

For this week, my pick is the 16th expansion for the EverQuest franchise. This is only notable because it shows that EverQuest is still actually being played.  This proves that unlike the Final Fantasy series, EverQuest is true to its name. The game that ruled the MMO space before World of Warcraft apparently still has some life in it. If you are into EverQuest, you already know all about this. If you aren’t, then you probably don’t care.

Still, this does seem like a week for revisiting some classics. Konami is releasing two classic game packs on the Xbox 360 this week, with games like Contra, Frogger and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Diablo 2 is also getting an update, as the v1.13 patch just hit the test realms late last week.

I know this week looks bad, but next week actually has some big named games coming out, I promise! Ever hear of Final Fantasy? How about Guitar Hero? Those are big names, right? Well, they have some embarrassing spin offs that hit Christmas week when no one is looking. After that is one of the biggest January’s on record. Until then, paying attention to theevilcast.com will be more entertaining than any new releases.
