Twin Blades is a frantically paced, dual-stick shooter/side scroller set in a medieval-fantasy zombie-filled universe, with manga-styled graphics. Originally on the iPhone (see The Portable Gamer’s Review right here), the translation to the big screen should be fascinating. It’s definitely affordable, too, at 240 MS points ($3). The game features six ranged weapons, upgradeable skills, seven different zombie enemies, original music and immersive audio effects, and a local high score system.
Even better, the game will feature free DLC in Q1 2010 with the addition of bosses, new environments and more animations. While this additional content will be free to players who have purchased the game, the retail price will be raised upon release of the DLC, an experiment in pricing that can be seen as rewarding early supporters while giving the independent developers, Press Start Studio, the funding they need to pursue other projects.
