NCSoft have announced a whopping 630% growth in profits for this quarter on the same period  last year. This massive hike in profits is mainly down to their new epic MMORPG Aion along with steady sales of Lineage 2.aion8

The awesomely successful launch of Aion in the US and Europe has shows that NCSoft might just have  the teeth to challenge  Blizzard/Activision on their own turf.

NCsoft’s CFO Jaeho Lee said, “2009 Q3 has been a very meaningful period for NCsoft. Especially since our arduous preparations and efforts for overseas expansion became tangible through Aion ’ s successful global launching. ” He also added that “ We will not be contented with these early results. We will do our best to make Aion a globally loved game and endeavor for results surpassing that of Aion with upcoming Blade&Soul and Guild Wars 2.

Aion is available on the PC and you can read our review of it here. Also, for you diehard NCSoft fans out there our own Fanky Malloon is showing you a different side of City of Heroes/Villains in his brand spanking new column. Check it out here.
