That’s right. I said it. Dundee has a new, rather awesome, digital arts festival. With the Scottish city being the home of Crackdown and APB developer Realtime Worlds, the masters of digital TV games Denki and new studio Ruffian (currently developing Crackdown 2) as well as being spiritual home to the GTA series (DMA design, now Rockstar North began life in Dundee) it’s about bloody time it had a festival celebrating all the wonderful digital creations that the city has given birth to.
Along comes NEoN, which will host some of the games industry’s leading lights as well as delegates from Disney’s Pixar Studios. Yes, Bud Luckey from Pixar, Doug Jones from Realtime Worlds, Andy Sithers from Microsoft and an unconfirmed visitor from LittleBigPlanet dev, MediaMolecule, will be speaking at the inaugural NEoN festival this year. Not bad for a brand spanking new festival, is it?
