This week is mainly reserved for the handhelds. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days hits the DS and Gran Turismo hits the PSP. Otherwise, the PC gets a medieval RPG and the 360 gets Cabela’s Big Game Hunter. The Wii gets a couple games, but nothing very notable. If you are looking for a big game on the consoles, I suggest you hold onto your money.
The only real exception is for PS3 owners. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, the PS3 game based on the 360 exclusive, hits store shelves this week. Polished up and given some additional content, this is a great gem for those who missed Ninja Gaiden 2. Other than additional content, the biggest difference between the games is that Sigma 2 contains noticeably less gore. The franchise is known for the buckets of blood that pour out from dismembered enemies. Don’t worry though, the game remains extremely violent.
Fans of the series should be excited for this, but if you are new to ninja based combat, I would hold off on this one. Its a solid game, but a polished up version of an older game isn’t going to stand up with the bigger games this season. I might wait until next summer to really check this out if it doesn’t peak your interest.
