Happy Evil Birthday To Us!

pacmanCake

But YOU get the presents. First up, though, are some sentiments from staffers here at the Games Are Evil Network, both past and present:

Gabe Marchisio: I’ve always loved gaming, and writing as well. That’s why when the opportunity to help in creating a new gaming website came my way, I jumped at it like Mario himself. GamesAreEvil is more to me than just a hobby or a way to snag free games- it is a facet of myself. At any moment I can bring it up, I will with great pride. I am very glad to be part of the site, and as it grows, I feel myself growing as well. The people I have collaborated here with, whether it be through podcast or e-mail, are some of the coolest cats anyone would have the pleasure of knowing. I am looking forward to seeing the site age another year, and will surely be there when it does. Lets keep this Evil train a rollin’!

Dave Hatfield: Wow, the first birthday all ready? Where is the smash cake? Seriously I want to thank Jason Evangelo for recruiting me to this wonderful adventure and Phil Coyne as well for dreaming up this endeavor with Jason. This has been such a fantastic experience, being a strange writer for the site, I appreciate the respect I have been shown and the leeway I have been given to expore my creative side. I think it is paramont to thank the readers for sticking with us and helping make GrE a destination. (Special shout to “JK Sullivan” and his support).

Christian Arca: Games Are Evil. Seriously, they are! They took me away from the Games Are Evil staff! But in all seriousness the only feeling which I have for Games Are Evil and it’s staff on this one year birthday is elation. Seeing how far the GAE staff and site has come is truly remarkable. My time at Games Are Evil I must say was one of the best I’ve had. The pure enthusiasm that goes into every piece by every staff member is remarkable and when you’re part of an environment like that you’re sure to produce high quality work which is exactly what Games Are Evil does. So Happy Birthday Games Are Evil and I look forward to your 2 year anniversary!

Martin Gaston: I’ve been writing on-and-off for GrE since it’s inception, and it’s always been amazing to work with a group of people with so much enthusiasm for gaming. GrE was built on a foundation of passion and hard work, instead the usual fledgling website norms of a desire to become internet celebrities and score free swag. It’ll be interesting to see what happens over the next year!

Melody Stotler: Being a staff writer here at GrE has its many privileges: insane deadlines, editors that breathe fire, hours and hours of laborious research, horrifying “games,” unreasonable expectations… It’s a torturous thing I do. I’m really a martyr when you think about it. Even so, being the strong individual that I am, I press on! Endure to the end! As such, I feel it my duty to say Happy Birthday to GrE. I would like to quote a unknown author for the occasion, “Go n-ithe an cat thú is go n-ithe an diabhal an cat.” Which means (roughly translated), “May the cat eat your soul, and the devil eat the cat.” I’ll end with this final thought: Today is opposite day. (o rly? srsly? GrE is the shiznit… there is nothing even remotely craptastic about it! GrE PWNS! Happy Birthday!!!)

Jennifer Allen: To me the Games Are Evil network feels more than just your regular gaming website, it’s a family of like minded souls who all want to write about their passion in life: gaming. It feels like only yesterday that I started writing for the site and I’ve loved every minute of it. Huge thanks to Jason Evangelo for hiring me and Rob LeFebvre for all his support. I’m hugely proud of the site and the people who write for it. All the guys and gals here work hard to ensure that Games Are Evil is one of the best independent gaming websites there is.
Happy Birthday Games Are Evil and long may we continue!
