Today, Activision announced that it was delaying the release of its forthcoming racer, Blur, until 2010. That’s a real shame, especially since the TV commercials had already started the hype machine a-rumbling.
Developed by Bizarre Creations, Blur seems to be taking the as-yet-unclaimed ground between Mario Kart and Burnout. It will pitch you headlong into frantic arcade racing, with the notable addition of weapons! Featuring power-ups such as the traditional nitro boost, as well as shock, barge, and repair, it looks like it could be good fun. If, like me, you couldn’t drive a car around a bend even if someone else steered for you, then it could be equally fun just ruining someone else’s race.
Blur will be available on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Watch this space for a revised release date.
