Big surprise, another big name fall release has been delayed until 2010. Even though Starcraft 2 had never been given an official release date, there had been some hope that we would be playing it before Christmas. Sadly, Activision-Blizzard has assured us that we won’t see the title until 2010. These are the top 10 reasons why the game was delayed:
10) Before they worry about Starcraft 2, the team wants to make sure that Starcraft: Ghost is better then Duke Nukem: Forever.
9) General Motors have asked for Blizzard’s help in designing a concept car that runs exclusively on Vespene Gas.
8) There have been delays in obtaining the proper shipping permits for the special edition package, which ships with a fully functioning Pylon (Only $15,000 USD!)
7) Because of the game’s popularity in Korea, Blizzard decided to create an extra feature that would alert the user via Battle.net when a Nuclear launch is detected.
6) While the art team was experimenting with some of the early Zerg models, a rogue group of World of Warcraft developers charged in, destroying hundreds of pieces of concept art, while yelling something about damning the confederacy.
5) Blizzard’s designated Starcraft historian refuses to work until he figures out just how the Protoss eat.
4) After the economic crash, it has been determined that the average consumer requires more minerals.
3) The secret “Cow Level” still needs to be polished.
2) Activision wants to port the game to Wii and take advantage of the new MotionPlus controller.
1) Blizzard’s new approach has changed from releasing games “When it’s done” to releasing games “When we feel like it”.
Can you think of any other reasons for the delay?
