Batman: Arkham Asylum is releasing on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on August 25, 2009. There is a large amount of hype surrounding this title, with the inclusions of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill and the possibility of the dark and brooding Batman that comic and gamer fans have been waiting for. The current generation consoles illustrate their prowess in the ability to show the intense graphics that bring the characters into a new environment.
Warner Bros and Eidos Inc announced that they will be releasing a demo for the upcoming title on August 7 for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Console owners can download their respective demos via the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network while PC owners can head to BatmanArkhamAsylum.com for the details on that version of the demo.
The demo opens with the Joker’s return to Arkham by Batman and Commissioner Gordon. Only moments from being admitted, the Joker traps Batman inside the asylum and frees the inmates against him. During the demo, players will be able to try the FreeFlow combat system, the stealth Invisible Predator mechanic, and experience the inside of Arkham Asylum themselves. As a bonus, gamers can unlock character bios and see a sneak peak of the enemies in Batman’s rogue gallery.
