There is an interesting dichotomy between anime/card games/video games. In many aspects, that is the standard marketing push, bringing a product from one area to another. Well, Now Productions and Activision are bringing Bakugan: Battle Brawlers to all major platforms, continuing the trend of anime-card-game-turned-video-game.
Players create their own Bakugan character and start from the bottom of the pile, working their way up to become the best of the best. Now Productions took parts from the anime along with the card game and combined them to make a brand new title that contains the drama of the series and the skills needed from the card game. The storyline of the game was written by the writers of the anime specifically for this release, so there is strong hope that this story will resonate in the anime series itself.
Bakugan: Battle Brawlers will release on 10/20/09.
