Samurai Shodown: Edge of Destiny Trailer

Samurai Shodown is one of the classic fighting genre franchises. I remember it existing around the same time I would go to the arcade to play Street Fighter II and school noobs with Guile. Nowadays, my main character is Ryu, but on Samurai Shodown my go-to-guy was Hanzo. He’s a ninja and I love ninjas.

Samurai-Shodown-Edge-of-Destiny-360-logoReleasing for the Xbox 360 in 2009, Samurai Shodown: Edge of Destiny is taking cues from Street Fighter IV and joining the third dimension on two dimension fighting arena on current consoles. There are times when I think that sprites are perfectly fine when it comes to certain fighting titles, but with Samurai Shodown it looks like Ignition might be on the right track translating the sprites to polygons. If Ignition was really smart, they would include some of the older Samurai Shodown titles on the disc along with Edge of Destiny.

Check out the new trailer covering all the characters for this new title.
