Resident Evil has long been one of my favorite franchises. Hands down, it has supplied more scares than any other series, including Fatal Frame or Silent Hill. The Nintendo Wii is receiving another Resident Evil title in the form of Resident Evil: The Dark Side Chronicles. Taking the protagonists of Resident Evil 2, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, on a whole new adventure, it looks like the Resident Evil franchise is still alive.
Of course gamers want more Resident Evil, and the release of the great Resident Evil 5 has only helped strengthen the franchise after Resident Evil 4′s successful reboot of the series. Though the Wii title will be an “on-rails” shooter, if the developers can instill the sense of horror and panic that the previously games conveyed, this game could be a great addition to the series. Hopefully Capcom can pull this one off for all of the Nintendo Wii owners out there who can’t get enough Resident Evil.
