Harry Potter storming its way into theaters this past weekend is a sign that we are in the middle of the summer movie storm. The biggest movies have staggered themselves out and are attacking our pocket books.
Unfortunately, with big movies come a barrage of movie based games that take advantage of fanboys and children. These titles tend to be a disgrace to video game kind and they aren’t looked at twice by a serious gamer. Sadly, this week will see a one-two punch from the likes of G-Force and Watchmen.
I suggest that you spend next week in the theaters rather then your local video game store. The only game coming out this week with any potential is Shatter, which available this week for download on PSN. Shatter is similar to the arcade classic Breakout, but with an interesting vacuum like feature that presents a twist to the game play. This is no 40 hour epic JRPG, but its mind-numbing arcade goodness should at least distract you while you wait for the next iteration of your favorite sports games.
