It’s Thursday which means a PlayStation Network Update! The summer sale has ended, and soon gamers, developers, and publishers will be heading into the Fall quarter for gaming.
The numbers have shown that the Holiday season isn’t always necessary to release big titles, so here’s hoping that there are some triple-A titles releasing in the next few months.
Here’s what’s releasing online this week.
New Games

Shatter ($7.99) – Everyone loves brick-breaking games and Shatter is another entry in the genre. The main difference between this version and versions of old is the inclusion of special attacks, power-ups, and BOSS BATTLES.

Spec Ops: Covert Assault ($5.99) – Another PSOne port release. Much like Spec Ops: Ranger Elite, gamers will choose a two man team and complete missions. In Spec Ops: Covert Assault, gamers will be able to utilize ten different weapons.

Wild Arms 2 ($5.99) – The second PSOne port release, Wild Arms has a long history on the PlayStation taking the RPG genre into the old Wild West.
Demos

Call of Duty: World At War – Most gamers already own this game or have passed it up. Those who haven’t get to try “Hard Landing,” one of the campaign missions.

Dissidia Final Fantasy – A Final Fantasy Fighting Game? Yes please. Taking some of the well known characters throughout Final Fantasy’s long history, Dissidia pits Cosmos, The Goddess of Harmony, and Chaos, God of Destruction, against each other.
