Ninja Gaiden is still considered one of the most grueling games that has ever been released. Originally released on Xbox and updated with DLC which made the game even more difficult, it became even more of a hardcore gamer’s pride to complete this title. Tecmo then released Ninja Gaiden Black, a conglomeration of all the DLC packs into a retail release. PlayStation 3 received Ninja Gaiden Sigma in 2007, a upgraded port of Ninja Gaiden Black which received high scores and illustrated that PlayStation gamers were viable consumers for the series.
When the Xbox 360 released Ninja Gaiden 2, many gamers wondered if the title would also be ported over the PlayStation 3 again. Well, it has been and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is releasing on September 29. Like Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is receiving some upgrades from the original release. The inclusion of online cop-op and chapter challenge mode, new multiple playable characters, and more weapons.
I played a demo version of the title at E3 and it is fast, no joke. I also played Ninja Gaiden 2 on Xbox 360 and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 feels faster. Playing as Ayane, one of the new playable characters, it took some time to get back into the lightning fast combat, but after a few minutes, I was beheading and slicing through enemies with ease.
