Dammit Game of the Week: Fragger

fragger_scrn_01There are some days that you just feel the need to blow something up (figuratively of course). And no, I’m not talking about the inflatable doll in your closet that you call your girlfriend. Since most of us can’t sneak a console or handheld into work to fulfill that need, I present for your destructive enjoyment, Fragger.

Fragger is a physics-based puzzle game brought to you by Harold Brenes and, of course, Armor Games. It’s a brand spanking new game as of July 1st. For once it looks like I’m on top of things.

The object of the game? Blow your enemies sky-high using your amazing ‘fragging’ skills. Yup, it is just that simple. It reminds me of old-school Qbasic game, Gorillas (points for those of you who know what I’m talking about), except with better graphics and bigger explosions. But isn’t that how all games evolve? Your controls are very simple. Us the mouse to set the angle and then set the velocity by bringing the mouse closer or further away from the ‘fragger.’ A click will send the grenade flying towards the ‘fragee’ (yes, I think I just made up a word). The space bar will cancel the throw if you happen to screw up.

There are 30 levels for you to enjoy, along with 3 different difficulties. Each difficulty beat unlocks a new perk (and you get more points). Once again for you achievement whores out there, there are 11 achievements to collect.
