Dammit Game of the Week: Crush the Castle

crushthecastleI will admit that I only play Dammit Games at work or during class.  They’re my sanity break after dealing with people who can’t figure out a scanner or a Microsoft product.  I never bring them home with, until now.  I have a gaming PC and consoles to play at home and what was I playing?  The Dammit Game of the Week for this week, Crush the Castle.

This medieval physics simulator was programmed by Joey Betz and produced in-house by Armor Games.  Some other credits: Art by Chris “Con” Condon, testing/Levels by Dan, Larry, John, and Dim (SuperFlashBros), and inspired by Liam Bowmers (Castle Clout author).

You have been tasked by your king with eliminating all the resistance in the kingdom.  And how will you do that?  By crushing every castle (and it’s inhabitants) that stand in your way.  Armed with a Trebuchet (fancy-ass medieval catapult) and up to 8 different projectiles, you must pulverize the rebels castles into broken piles of rubble.  My favorite part was the little heads that explode as a giant rock crushes them.

The controls are:
Mouse/Space to Fire, Release, and Reload
R to Reset
Arrow Keys to View Castle
M to Mute

Now annihilate those rebels for King and Country!

Another neat feature of Crush the Castle is the fact that you can create your own castle and share it with others.  Yay for level designers!  There is also a Player’s Pack coming out soon made of castles that were submitted to a contest.  I, personally, can’t wait to see what the messed up minds that play flash games came up with.
