It is possible that some gamers only experienced the glory of the Metal Gear Solid series starting either on the PlayStation 2 with Metal Gear Solid 2: Solid Snake and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater or with PlayStation 3′s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Well Sony has brought back the first installment in the series Metal Gear Solid where Solid Snake entered the third dimension and Kojima’s brilliance was seen on the PlayStation.
The PlayStation Store has released Metal Gear Solid for $9.99. Though it might be possible to find a physical used copy for less, the availability of this must-have title for use on the the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable is too good to pass up.
Two lingering questions:
Did Konami change certain sections of the game like the Psycho Mantis boss fight and the jewel case codec trick? It’s almost enough to make me buy the game to find out, though I could always pull out my old copy of Metal Gear Solid to relive this PlayStation classic.
Even if they changed the game to bypass certain tricks used in the original PlayStation version, gamers must experience the first (true) tactical espionage action game.
