World Domination, anyone? Oh come on, you can’t tell me that isn’t a dream of yours. Game developers have realized this and exploited it to the utmost. If you’re old enough to know what a board game is (kudos to those of us that have actually played one other than SceneIt!), you probably remember the game Risk. The object of the game: to rule the world, utterly annihilating your opponents. World Wars is the online Risk-style flash game for those of us who don’t want our world domination practice seen by our future minions.
Created by Tagemi Games, produced by Freaky Tiki (love that name), and hosted by AddictingGames, World Wars is a fairly simple flash game that can suck away hours at a time as you try to wipe the other armies off the map. The game can either be short and fast or long and drawn out, totally depending on how many opponents you have. Choose from one to seven opponents. I suggest starting out smaller, choosing 2 or 3, otherwise you may get frustrated when it’s your ass that gets blown off. Then all you have to do is click. Your territory will have a certain number of soldiers/tanks/planes as will your opponent(s). As long as you have more than one, you can attack. Dice is thrown and the army with the higher count wins, taking over the territory. You lose one of your army each time, but at the end of the round gain more in the territories you rule. However, if you lose or tie the roll, your army from the attacking territory will be reduced to one, leaving a clear path for the computer its next turn.
So go on, try take over the world. I dare you. Victory shall be mine (or yours)!
Just a side note, Addicting Games and Nickelodeon have partnered up for the AddictingGames Showdown. Head on over to the site and see what they have to offer. Vote for your favorite games in the categories. WorldWars just happens to be one of the many vying for the title of “Most Addicting Game”. Watch the showdown at 8 pm, June 27th on Nick.
