Well PS3 Fanboys, get your petitions started. Your beloved system seller Metal Gear Solid has officially jumped onto the Xbox 360.

That’s right. Kojima-San himself announced today at the Microsoft press conference that Metal Gear Solid would indeed be showing up on the 360 at some point. However it isn’t the MGS you are used to. It won’t star Solid Snake (um much like MGS2) it will star Raiden. The official title being “Metal Gear Solid: Rising, and having the strange tag line of “Lightning Bolt Action”.

It probably won’t be exclusive to the 360, but that really doesn’t matter, because much like the ham-burgler, Microsoft is just out to steal users away from the PS3. One thing that will definitley do that is getting a Metal Gear Solid branded game on the Xbox. No word was given on, pretty much anything else about the game (price, date, story etc.) but some more of that may be revealed over the coming days.

If this is the way that Microsoft has chosen to come out of the gate so to speak, then Sony already has quite the mountain to climb to knock them off. Good luck to you on that one. Oh and sorry to all the PS3 fanboys out there that are already saying they will stop supporting the system if MGS goes to the “competition”. That’s life, sometimes when you’re given lemons, you gotta make grapefruit cocktail out of it… hmm that needs work.
