King Allant the XII, the last king of Bletaria, searched tirelessly to expand his might. The Nexus, a great ice shrine nestled in the mountains, bestowed the power of the souls onto him, bringing prosperity to his kingdom. Still unsated he returned again to the Nexus, where he foolishly awakened the Old One from its eternal slumber. This long forgotten evil, now wrought upon Boletaria, plunged the realm into darkness and fog. A mighty demon horde poured into the kingdom, devouring the souls of men.
As countless champions were called forth to face the evil, none of them returned from the evil kingdom. Players are called upon by a mysterious maiden in black, and are the last hope for humanity.

Atlus, your knights in shining armor, have announced today that they have secured the North American publishing rights for Demon’s Souls, an action RPG for the PlayStation 3. Atlus says Demon’s Souls is “Beautiful, compelling, and unforgiving, it is the hardcore RPG experience that PS3 owners have been waiting for since the platforms launch.”
Players will be able to jump in and out of seamless inter-connectivity for co-op gaming at its best. Teaming up with two other players will allow gamers to fully enjoy the campaign with friends, and help them get through the colossal bosses. But co-op isn’t the only thing that Demon’s Souls has to offer, players will also be able to jump into PvP matches and challenge random gamers to a duel. On top of that, all of the PvP matches will be video enabled, so players can watch their victories or hone their skills.
There is no set path to completing Demon’s Souls, meaning that players have a wealth of options in this open-ended structure. Setting your own pace and progressing as you like, customization is key. The world even reacts to your actions. The World Tendency system changes the aggressiveness of monsters and the rewards for killing them based on your actions. Different events and NPCs may be triggered at different points throughout the game as well.
If Atlus can pull this one together, they very well may make the best RPG we’ve seen this generation. These screen shots look to impress as well, enjoy the latest and keep it locked here for more.
