After all the news regarding the questionable legality of the Gamestop Employee Lending Program, it looks like another major retail chain is going to have to pay attention as well.
Six-year old Eliso Tovar was excitedly powering up his brand-spankin new Playstation Portable that he got for Christmas when he saw some lady’s unmentionables gracing the screen. Unsure of what to do except make sure he didn’t get in trouble, Eliso ran for his mother, Tamatha. Needless to say, she was upset and promptly checked the memory card, finding an entire collection of pictures. The strange part of this whole story is the memory card was supposedly already in the PSP and she purchased it at Wal-Mart. As a responsible mother, she immediately contacted the store and demanded an explanation.
“I explained the situation and his response was, ‘well, bring the machine down and we’ll let your son pick out a new game. And I was like, no I don’t think you heard what I said.” — Fox 25 Boston
The Wal-Mart spokesperson stated that they are investigating the issue, like usual. Tamatha just wants an apology, oh and a new PSP. Hopefully she gets it. Who wants a “used” PSP when you thought you were buying a new one, at a store that does not sell used goods! Hopefully they find which employee “borrowed” the system or the customer that returned it with a memory card full of porn.
