After a nice week long hiatus where I was steadily hammering away at Super Punchout, we are back again to see what is being added to the ever-deepening pool of WiiWare and Virtual Console titles. Among this week’s eclectic collection is another SEGA Genesis era nostalgia-fest, along with an interesting take on Pirates via WiiWare. Here is what you can expect this week:
WiiWare
Party Fun Pirate – In this dog-eat-dog world of pirates versus ninjas, it is good to know that the two can coexist without ruining each others titles. Here is the scenario: A pirate is entrapped in a wooden barrel and it is your job to ensure that he stays that way. Armed with your trusty swords, you are tasking with stabbing as many blades into the barrel as possible, without igniting the dynamite.
If your aim is true, your buddy will live to swash buckle another day, however, if you are incorrect, this will be the last you will ever see of him. For even more fun, give the multiplayer mode a shot. After all, everything is more fun with friends. The game is available for 500 Nintendo Points ($5.00 USD.)

Virtual Console
Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure - Indiana Jones rip-offs unite in this SEGA Genesis classic. Following in the successful footsteps of his father on the Atari 2600, Pitfall Harry Jr. sets off in search of his fortune. Just be sure to watch out for those alligators, they can be a bitch to avoid.
Call it a remake, call it a rehash, regardless of how you feel about it, the influence that it had can still be felt across the platforming genre. If you are a fan, this is an awesome chance to once again relive your childhood. The game will be available for 800 Nintendo Points ($8.00 USD.)
