Jack Thompson Burns The Bridge

jackthompson_introAs we’ve reported in the past, Jack Thompson has been getting quite a bit of attention in Utah. Seems like that attention has taken a turn for the worse lately, as even supporters of his latest bill, are now withdrawing from his ‘campaign of terror’ against video games.

Posted directly to the “Unofficial Voice” of the Utah Senate’s website, President Waddoups will no longer be supporting any of the bills Jack Thompson throws out, even if he agrees with them. So why the sudden approval rating flop for ol’ Jack? Well, as the Unofficial Voice says, Jack sends a lot of Email.

At 6:00 on Easter Sunday morning, Jack sent an Email out to a group of contacts and highlighted a picture that, if not pornographic, was offensive at best. Due to the nature of the Email, President Waddoups, who also happened to be on that contact list, sent a message to jack that simply read;

OK, I’ve had enough. Please remove me from your Email list.

Jack couldn’t miss an opportunity to talk with President Waddoups, so of course he shot back;

Sir, did you look at the material being sold to minors in Utah that I sent you?

President Waddoups responded with yet another request to be removed from Jack’s list;

Yes, I read them all and I got the picture. No more please.

It appears that Jack went one step too far this time, because his once faithful supporter will no longer be in his corner of the ring. The exact words of President Waddoups were;

I asked you before to remove me from your mailing list. I support your bill but because of the harassment will not again. If I am not removed I will turn you over to the AG for legal action.

Looks like Jack won’t be getting the help that he so desperately needed anymore. For anyone interested in the full Email keep an eye out on Utah’s website, or keep it locked here and we’ll try to colaborate along side them.
