When I was looking over all the Dammit Games I had done over at aRandomGamer.com, I was amazed that I had missed this set of games. That’s right, it’s a two for one week. Thus I present to you, for your procrastinating pleasure: Fancy Pants Adventure and Fancy Pants Adventure World 2.
Let’s get the credit crap, I mean the recognition, out of the way. These games were created, programmed, drawn, etc… by Brad Borne and sponsored by… you probably guessed it, Armor Games. They sponsor just about everything. On to the games!
Fancy Pants Adventure
The first Fancy Pants Adventure introduces you to the main character of the adventure, Mr. Fancy Pants. Alot of time and effort was obviously put into the concept and creation of this character. Just look at his pants, they’re so… fancy. And the hair, it moves with the character (I know some console games where that doesn’t even happen). All sarcasm aside, this is a really fun game.
Mr. Fancy Pants must run and jumping using the environment around him as ramps, to collect as many of the squiggles as he can. Like every flash game, the controls are easy, Left and Right Arrows to move, Down Arrow to duck / roll, Up Arrow to enter a door, and “s” to jump. Your only enemies are the spiders, the mouse with the a gun that shoots bad squiggles, and finally the boss, a very confused penguin. For some reason he thinks he’s a bull. Try to get the feel of the game and then move on to Number 2! Oh, did I mention there are trophies?
Fancy Pants Adventure World 2
Welcome to World Two, complete with Mr. Fancy Pants, an angry bunny, and a stolen ice cream cone. After a smashing game of Fancy Golfball (which is kind of a mix of golf and soccer), you are presented with an ice cream cone, which is promptly stolen by one pissed off bunny. It is up to you to get your ice cream cone back.
The game plays much like the first Fancy Pants Adventure. You use the features of the world to ramp and launch yourself into the air. There are new aspects added into this version. You can do wall jumps, kick the spiders and get more Fancy Pants! That’s right, different color pants for Mr. Fancy Pants, just in case he soiled them after running into a spider.
