John Katehis, is a 16-year old, self proclaimed Extremist, Anarchist, and Sadomasochist who enjoys long conversations, drinking, bike riding, and hanging out. Sounds like the perfect guy for some violent sex with yeah? Well, as one unlucky individual found out, this was a bad combination to look for in a mate. That unlucky soul was WABC newsman George Weber.
Weber had placed an add on Craigslist looking for a partner to have rough sex with. Upon viewing the add a source told NYdailynews.com that John “saw the victim’s ad looking for violent sex and said, ‘I can smother somebody for $60,’ but it got out of hand.” And by out of hand, they mean that John eventually ended up stabbing Weber so many times that he couldn’t remember.
So John is clearly a sick individual, but what does that have to do with video games? Well, sites like Gamepolitics.com are reporting on the pictures that John had on his MySpace and ibeatYou.com pages. John stated that GTA IV was the “hottest PS3 or Xbox 360 game you’ve ever played,” and includes a picture of himself posing with the game. While John also makes reference to Farcry 2, GTA IV seems to be taking the brunt of the attack.
Looks like video games will (once again) take the wrap for a sick individuals wrong doings. When will this all end? When will people realize that screwed up individuals don’t need video games to push them over the edge, because they’re already there. This kid is obviously messed up in the head, and video games should be left out of the picture.
What do you guys think? Would a violent video game make you envite some random dude over for violent sex and then stab him so many times you couldn’t remember? I didn’t think so.
