Finally revealing Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising in action, with the deployment of a US Marine Corps fireteam to a 155mm Howitzer strike blast on the landscape, it’s easy to see the level of detail and realism that Codemasters is shooting for.

As we have mentioned before, OF:DR will host the vast 220 sq km island of Skira, which is located off the eastern coast of Russia just north of Japan. The island has been rigorously researched and meticulously recreated for battle, with no limitations placed on players. The island is open and ready for exploration from the get-go, leaving a sense of fear and mortality as death can come from any angle.
In addition to the single player campaign, players will have an in-depth co-op component, enabling squads of up to four players to work together through the campaign. Judging by this video, we’ll see plenty of action to go around.
